The following provides a summary of actions taken by the City Council as part of the special and regular meetings on October 4, 2021:

Closed Session: City Attorney reported that there was no reportable action.
Ceremonial Matters: Council presented a proclamation for the National Fire Prevention Week.

Review of Advisory Body Work Plan - The Council reviewed work plan submitted by the Community Media Access Committee and approved the work plan with minor modifications.
Community Task Force on Policing Request for Creation of a Public Safety Accountability Commission: The Council adopted Resolution No. 2021-100, establishing an Albany Policing Commission.
New Street Trees Paid for with Measure DD Revenue: The Council directed staff to prepare a resolution to remove the charge for new street trees and concrete removal for planting, provide a watering bag with each new street tree as appropriate to the species, and pay for these with Measure DD revenue.
Racial Equity and Community Satisfaction Survey Follow-Up: The Council direct staff to prepare a Request for Proposal for firms to submit on conducting a racial equity and community satisfaction survey.
Public Comment on Reports: The Council adopted the proposed amendments the City Council Procedures & Policies to provide each attendee one minute to comment on report items.
