Albany Police Make Stalking Arrest

On 09/09/21 at approx. 6:57 pm Albany Police received a call regarding a possible attempted kidnapping. Officers responded to the area and contacted the victim, a 38 year old female. The victim reported she was walking on Pierce St. near the entrance to Albany Hill when the suspect pulled alongside her and attempted to engage her in conversation from his vehicle. The victim was frightened and began walking towards the tree line of Albany Hill to get away from the suspect. The suspect then drove his vehicle onto the sidewalk in an attempt to block the victim’s path. The suspect did not attempt to exit his vehicle or make physical contact with the victim. The victim ran away from the suspect and made their way to 555 Pierce St. 

A description of the suspect and his vehicle were obtained and broadcasted to surrounding agencies. Richmond Police Department officers located the suspect in their city. The victim was able to positively identify the suspect, a 26 year old male from Richmond. He was taken into custody for stalking and later transported to Santa Rita Jail.
