Burglary Arrest Made

On Tuesday December 21, 2021 at approximately 06:16 am, the Albany Police Department received a call about a possible residential burglary occurring in the 1000 block of Santa Fe Avenue.  Albany police officers responded to the scene and observed someone inside the residence.  As officers investigated they learned that no one was supposed to be in the residence.  Furthermore, a forced entry point was discovered at the rear of the residence.  There were several attempts made to call out anyone inside the residence with no response although a voice could be heard inside.  With the use of a K9, the suspect was located hiding inside the residence and taken into custody.

The suspect, a 35-year-old male from the Richmond/Oakland area who’s currently on parole out of Contra Costa County was arrested for the criminal charges of residential burglary, resisting arrest and a parole violation.
