In response to a report on August 17, 2021 by NBC Bay Area titled, ‘It’s Unlivable’: East Bay Neighborhood Says Property Is Infested With Rats, the City of Albany would like to provide the following statement:
 
The City is actively working with the owner and other regulatory agencies to abate the pest and nuisance conditions at the property.  The City understands the impact of this issue on the community and is seeking to resolve the matter as soon as possible while respecting the rights of the owner and other affected parties.  We will provide additional information as it becomes available and urge any community member with additional information or questions to reach out to Brennen Brown at bbrown@albanyca.org.
