Gallery: Demolition on Solano Uncovers a Retro Hardware Store Sign

As Shik Do Rock is demolished, a little piece of local business history peeks out.

Last week, Albany Patch heard from half a dozen people wondering about the demolition on Solano Avenue next to . The former location of Korean restaurant Shik Do Rock has been knocked down, along with a second unit beside it. 

Uncovered during the demolition, as reader Skip Moore's photo shows, are painted signs for a long-gone Glidden paint and hardware store. 

Albany Patch that according to the city planners the building owner has plans of bringing in a three story mixed-use building that would have both commercial and residential spaces.
