Community Corner

Albany Middle School California Native Garden Project

Join other community volunteers to plant a California native garden from 9-2 this Saturday July 2nd at Albany Middle School!  The garden is replacing the lawn next to the school’s lunch shelter (visible from the main entrance at 1259 Brighton Ave).  We’ll finish installing a stepping stone path and the last bit of sheet mulch, and plant, and we can do it all if enough volunteers attend!  Come for the whole time or just an hour, whatever works.   Refreshments will be served.

PLEASE RSVP to Erica at epetrofsky@albanyca.org or 510-528-5765 if you plan on attending… but if you forget to, come anyway.  J

NOTE: Please wear closed-toe shoes that can get dirty and bring your own reusable water bottle.  Volunteers will be required to sign a liability waiver (available for download here). Copies will be available at the event, but if a minor plans to attend without his or her parent or guardian, he or she should print a copy and have it signed before coming.
