Albany Unified School District Board of Education Meeting

SUMMARY OF AGENDA OF BOARD MEETING FOR OCTOBER 5, 2010

After Public Comment for Closed Session Items, Closed Session begins at 6:30 pm and the Open Session portion of the meeting that the general public is welcome to attend begins at 7:30 pm.

The consent calendar includes approval s of past board meeting minutes, personnel assignment orders, personnel leaves, business operations and student services.

Following the student board members' report, there will be three reports: 1) The District Honors the Albany Music Fund and SchoolCare for their support of Albany Schools. 2) Parks and Recreation. 3) Enrichment program at the three elementary schools .

There will be a period for persons to address the board on matters not on the agend a (3 minutes each).

There will be two main review and action items: 1) Public hearing and approval of resolution on Sufficiency of instruction Materials. 2) 2nd reading and approval of Board Policy 3312—on Professional Service Contracts

There will be three review and discussion items: 1) An update on the status of the federal Education Jobs Fund money. 2) Current 2010-11 Enrollment. 3) A discussion of Educational Equity amongst school sites (with regard to donations, fields trips and in school enrichment programs).

The meeting will end with board and superintendent comments.

The typically meets at 7:30p.m. at the Albany City Hall.  Please check schedule for any changes in location or time.
