Beginning Vocal Jazz Workshop is for singers curious about jazz or budding jazz singers wanting to become acquainted with singing the great repertoire of jazz standards, blues, broadway show tunes, and more in a supportive and encouraging class environment. Class sizes range fro 7-13 participants; 3 to 4 new songs are introduced each week. Singers areencouraged to solo, sing group harmony parts, learn the basics of jazz improvisation and vocal scat singing, and the art of interpreting a song.
Led by vocalist Richard Kalman, bay area jazz vocalist, music educator, leader of jazz harmony combos and acappella groups, and co-director of the Albany Jazz Band.
