
In this class you will learn the basic rules of the road as they apply to bicyclists, how to dress and equip your bicycle, helmet fitting, using transit, safety information and the main principles of riding predictably, visibly, and communicating with motorists by your actions and signals. No bike is required.
This 3 1/2 hour workshop is taught by one of our bicycle safety instructors who is certified by the League of American Bicyclists.
East Bay Bicycle Coalition's popular Bicycle Safety classes continue this Fall. Held periodically throughout the East Bay, Albany is hosting a workshop on Saturday, Oct. 16, 2010 from 1:00-4:30pm. Class is held at the Albany YMCA Annex, 1216 Solano Ave., Albany.
The 3.5 hour workshop, for teens and adults 14 years and older, teaches the basics of safe cycling, riding in traffic, equipment, crash avoidance, rights and responsibilities. The classroom component is a workshop taught by one of EBBC's bicycle safety instructors certified by the League of American Bicyclists. No bike is required. However the class is meant to be paired with the Road Class.
