David Zink plays "big-souled folk for the heart, head and shoes" and he's making a stop at St. Alban's on his 2011 tour.
About David Zink:
A fourth generation of a northern
California ranching family that settled in
the foothills of the Sierra Nevada Mountains
near Big Bald Rock, (north of Sacramento,
outside Oroville), David was encouraged in
music from an early age by family, church
and school. Cowboy tunes, hymns, gospel,
folk bands like Peter, Paul and Mary, the
New Christy Minstrels, and radio rock
formed his early ear.
At age 19, yearning to know more about
Life, David put a guitar on his backpack
and walked from Oroville to the middle of
Kansas, then bicycled to Chicago, drinking
deeply of the varied American experience,
and singing his songs at every rest stop,
campground, park, and church that offered
an audience. It was a spiritual journey that
later led him to pursue a degree in religious
studies and, almost, a pulpit. Read more.
