Michael Horse is one of the top Native American ledger artists in the country, and, is one of the men responsible for keeping this art form alive. Ledger art is a traditional Native American folk art depicting life before & after the reservation period of the late 1800s to early 1900s. The images of life on the plains, ceremonies and daily activities, along with battles, boarding school and experiences of oppression are also depicted. Mr. Horse is also an award-winning jeweler and actor.
