Saint Mary's College High School Open House

Saint Mary's College High School, Berkeley, will hold its annual Open House for prospective students and families on Sunday, November 21, from 1:00 to 3:00 p.m.  All ages are welcome, particulary students currently in grades 6, 7, and 8.  This interactive experience is the single best opportunity to meet administrators, faculty, staff, students, coaches, parents, and alumni of Saint Mary's.  The event will include campus tours, presentations, and demonstrations that bring Saint Mary's academic, athletic, Fine Arts, and co-curricular programs to life for visitors to the school's North Berkeley campus.  No reservations are necessary.  Admissions applications and information and details about Open House are available on the school web site at www.saintmaryschs.org or contact Associate Director of Admissions, Mrs. Linda Yaris, at (510) 559-6240.  Saint Mary's is a Lasallian Catholic school founded in San Francisco in 1863 and has been conducted by the De La Salle Christian Brothers since 1868.  The school moved to Berkeley in 1927.  The Brothers have taught in Berkeley since 1903.  The De La Salle Christian Brothers teach nearly one million students in eighty-four countries around the world.  Their schools on the West Coast include Saint Mary's College in Moraga, Sacred Heart Cathedral Preparatory in San Francisco, and De La Salle High School in Concord.  All three entrances to the Saint Mary's campus will be open for the Open House event:  Albina Avenue, the Monterey Avenue pedestrian gate just above Hopkins Street, and Posen Avenue below Monterey.  On-site parking will fill up quickly; if using street parking, please be respectful of neighborhood homes and driveways.  The campus is an easy four-block walk from the North Berkeley BART station.
