Shu Ren is unique in providing a Mandarin-English dual immersion education within an inquiry-based, transdisciplinary curriculum framework that stresses critical thinking skills, in-depth learning, and global competence. Students learn in Mandarin and English every day through an integrated curriculum that combines language, math, social studies, science, art, music, and physical education. Pre-K classes are taught in a 100% Mandarin immersion environment. Shu Ren was voted Best of the East Bay by the readers of Parents Press in 2012 and 2013.

No Chinese is required for admission through 1st grade. For 2nd grade and up, we will conduct a language assessment before admitting students.
