You’re invited to come Downtown on Saturday, September 29, from 1-5pm to celebrate the revitalization of Historic Main Street at the 4th annual Spirit & Soul Festival and Fundraiser. Explore the best of what Downtown has to offer: phenomenal musical performances by Andre Thierry & Zydeco Magic; Richmond Blues Diva, Tia Carroll; Ragtime Blues duo Clangin’ & Bangin’; and Hip Hop sensation C U Next Weekend; plus, an elegant outdoor bazaar featuring a range of fine dining from local restaurants and food trucks, unique artisan shopping, a wine and beverage garden offering exclusive libations, and fantastic door prizes—including a cash prize!
Admission is free, with proceeds benefiting Richmond Main Street and the revitalization of Downtown.
The celebration continues beyond Spirit & Soul with Richmond Arts in Motion, a special event hosted by the East Bay Center for the Performing Arts made possible by the National Endowment for the Arts.

Celebrating the arts in Downtown Richmond with activities, performances, and the dedication of new, interactive window display by acclaimed Bay Area-based digital artist, Scott Snibbe.

Family-friendly activities including arts & crafts, bouncy house, face painting, performances by East Bay Center resident performers from 4-6pm with a Mexican and African music & dance procession leading to the dedication of the a new, interactive window display by acclaimed Bay Area-based digital artist, Scott Snibbe. Following the dedication ceremony, activities will move inside the renovated historic Winters building with more performances, including a script-in-hand reading of scenes from a new Center-commissioned play.
About Spirit & Soul Festival
Spirit & Soul is Downtown’s premiere event and major fundraiser that celebrates the renewal of Historic Downtown Richmond and promotes the community-wide efforts of restoring the district as a vibrant, pedestrian friendly urban village offering products, services, arts, and entertainment that reflect the district’s diverse heritage. All proceeds benefit RMSI, which works to revitalize the Historic Downtown area through economic development, clean and safe, promotions, and design initiatives.
