Come and enjoy a lighthearted evening of stories from Susan Medak’s life in the theater. Be prepared to laugh and be inspired by one of the United States’ leading Regional Theater managers. Susie will discuss some of the funny moments behind the scenes at Berkeley Repertory Theater and poignant memories about some of her favorite actors and plays.

Susan has served as Berkeley Rep’s managing director since 1990, leading the administration and operation of the Theater. She is President of the League of Theaters, (LORT), the management association that represents seventy five of the nation’s largest nonprofit theaters. Medak has often served on program panels for the National Endowment of the Arts and chaired 2 panels for the Massachusetts Arts Council as well. She served two terms on the board of Theater Communications Group, including 3 years as the organization’s treasurer. Closer to home, Medak chairs the downtown Berkeley Association. She is the founding chair of the Berkeley Arts in Education Steering Committee for Berkeley Unified School District and the Berkeley Cultural Trust. Susan serves on the faculty of Yale School of Drama and is a proud member of the Mont Blanc Ladies Literary Guild and Trekking Society. Susan Medak lives in Berkeley with her husband and son.
