Local artist Benjamin Witzke presents a collection of natural science art with a broad range of subjects and a focus on native California ecology and herpetology in particular. Ben studied zoology at Humboldt state before combining his passion for nature and the sciences with his skill as a draftsmen, earning a degree in Illustration from California College of the Arts, and a graduate degree in Scientific Illustration from CSU Monterey Bay. He is currently illustrating newly described species of West African frogs and their tadpoles for the California Academy of Sciences.
