- help parents understand why writing is so hard for some students, why some wait until the last minute to start, or avoid it entirely
- explain why some kids easily write stories but not reports, and vice-versa
- outline the cognitive and academic building blocks for strong writers, and detail the teaching practices helpful for struggling writers
Linda Lawton is the founder and director of the Center of Attention and Learning in Albany, CA. Ms. Lawton taught history and language arts to middle school students for many years prior to her ET training at the New Learning Clinic.
