From Chora Nova:

In the four years since its founding in 2006, sixty-voice Chora Nova has become an important part of the San Francisco Bay Area’s cultural fabric. Based in Berkeley, California, it is known as a chorus that presents innovative programs featuring a mix of well-known and unusual works – such as the program of Zelenka and Kuhnau presented in fall 2008 which involved obtaining copies of themanuscript score and parts of the Zelenka Requiem from Germany.

The fifth season now beginning will include performances of Haydn’s Harmoniemesse, Der Sturm and Te Deum for Empress Marie Therese; Rheinberger’s Stabat Mater; and Vivaldi’s Dixit Dominus, Galuppi’s Laetatus Sum, and Pergolesi’s Confitebor tibi, Dominus. We propose to perform portions of this concert at the Chorus America conference in June.
