Free Compost Giveaway In Albany

Mark your calendar, gardeners! Two free bags per household.

ALBANY, CA — Have you been working in your yard this spring? If your flower beds or vegetable garden can use compost, your chance for two free bags is coming up.

The Recreation Department's annual Memorial Park Clean-Up is taking place on Saturday, May 4, from 9 a.m. to noon. That also happens to be the date of the free compost giveaway. The Rec Dept. is hoping that you'll pick up your compost and stick around to help with the park clean-up!

To get your free compost, bring proof of Albany residency. As always, the giveaway is first-come, first-served. The WM EarthCare Homegrown Compost is made from Bay Area yard trimmings and residential food scraps.
