Summer Sports Camps for grades 5-9: Register on the school web site. Sixth and Seventh Grade Information Night: Wednesday, May 4, 6:00 p.m., Shea Student Center; admissions information for current sixth and seventh grade families. No reservations needed; (510) 559-6240. Spring Dance Concert: “Surfaces,” in the school auditorium, Friday, May 6 at 7:00 p.m. Tickets are $10 at the door. Spring Music Concerts: May 26 and May 27, school auditorium, 7:00 p.m.
Relay for Life: “Team Panthers” – students, faculty, families, alumni, and friends – participated in and supported the 2016 Relay for Life 24-hour walk for cancer research, held at U.C. Berkeley on April 23 and 24. Saint Mary’s 2014 alumna and current Cal sophomore, Barbara Montano, helped organize the event.
Empty Bowls 2016: Saint Mary's student artists have again donated beautiful hand-crafted pottery bowls for the 2016 Empty Bowls Project, a longtime fundraiser for the Alameda County Community Food Bank, this year on May 19. Last year, student work helped raise $5,000 for the Food Bank. Pictured: bowls by Georgia Hayter, Logan Burkhart, Efrain De La Torre, and Galen Batzdorf are on display in the school’s Main Office. In February, student-made decorative pottery plates helped raise tuition assistance funds at the school’s annual Silent Auction at the Crab Feed.

Saint Mary’s Kiwanis Scholars: Seniors Salome Ragot and Sofia Andrade were honored at the annual Berkeley Kiwanis Club Scholarship Luncheon at Hs Lordships Restaurant on April 26. Salome received a $10,000 academic scholarship and will attend UC Berkeley next year. Sofia was awarded a $6,000 academic scholarship and is deciding between Cal Berkeley and UCLA.
