EMERYVILLE, CA — Oakland police officers chased a vehicle into Emeryville today where it crashed with four other vehicles, causing minor injuries, near Interstate Highway 80, according to the California Highway Patrol.
Officers received a report about a person with a weapon in a car at about 3:30 p.m. and gave chase, said CHP Officer Henry Schultz.
It's unclear where the chase originated, but it proceeded onto westbound Highway 80 until the driver exited the freeway and crashed at Powell Street, Schultz said.

At that point, two of the vehicle's passengers were taken to the hospital with minor injuries but a third passenger fled on foot and is still at large, Schultz said.
The five-car collision temporarily closed the Powell Street off-ramp but all CHP units have cleared the scene and the off-ramp has reopened, according to Schultz.
