BREAKING: The student was walking home from school on Tuesday, the district reports.

ALBANY, CA — A man tried to convince a 9th grade boy to get into his car as the student walked home from Albany High School on Tuesday, the school district reported today. The teen refused, and got away.
According to a written statement from the district, the teen "was walking home from school when a man in a brown 4-door older car approached him. The man tried to engage him in conversation by asking questions, and then he told him to get in the car for a ride home. This took place at the top of Washington Street near Albany Hill."
The teen reported the incident immediately to an adult, who called police.
