Machete-Wielding Suspect Shot In Alameda County
Sheriff's deputies said the man was suspected in a domestic violence incident involving his wife.

ALAMEDA COUNTY, CA -- A domestic violence suspect was shot early Monday morning in unincorporated Alameda County by sheriff's deputies after the suspect came at them with a machete, sheriff's officials said.
At 1:47 a.m. deputies went to a home in the 22300 block of Princeton Street in unincorporated Hayward after someone called to report domestic violence.
A person said she was assaulted by her husband who deputies found on a rear patio of the home, according to CHP officials.

The husband took a machete from his waistband and tried to attack the deputies.
One deputy fired at the suspect, hitting him. Deputies arrested the suspect and he was taken to a hospital where he is expected to survive.
