Man Shot on Berkeley Street During Attempted Robbery

The two suspects were wearing hoodies.

A man was hospitalized after two men tried to rob him and ultimately shot him in Berkeley on Friday morning, a police lieutenant said today.

Officers responded around 5:30 a.m. to the 2400 block of Ashby Avenue, Lt. Jen Louis said.

Louis said two men wearing hooded sweatshirts approached the man and demanded his property. A struggle ensued and during the struggle, one of the suspects shot the man, Louis said.

The suspects ran off without taking any of his property, she said.

As of Sunday evening, Louis said the victim was expected to make a full recovery.

No arrests have been made, she said.
