Motorcyclist Seriously Injured in Berkeley Collision

It does not appear drugs or alcohol were a factor in the collision, police said.

A motorcyclist was seriously injured in a collision in Berkeley on Tuesday evening, according to police. The collision between a motorcycle and another vehicle was reported at 7:36 p.m. at University Avenue and Acton Street, a few blocks south of the North Berkeley BART station, police said.

The motorcyclist was taken to a hospital with injuries considered life-threatening. The other driver remained at the scene and cooperated with investigators, according to police. It does not appear drugs or alcohol were a factor in the collision, police said.

Westbound University Avenue was closed between Acton and Sacramento streets on Tuesday night as a result of the collision.
