New Principal Appointed at Marin Elementary School

Her appointment was approved by the school board on Tuesday.

ALBANY, CA — Melisa Pfohl was appointed the new Marin Elementary School Principal at the July 11, 2017 Board of Education meeting, Superintendent Valerie Williams announced.

Pfohl is a 12 year veteran of the Albany Unified School District, with experience as a teacher at Marin Elementary School, Summer School Principal for AUSD, and most recently, as the Albany High Assistant Principal.

She has been an active participant in the Albany community, including Albany Coming Together (ACT), Curriculum Council, and the Report Card, Writing, and Assessment Committees.

Pfohl earned her Bachelor of Science at UC Berkeley, her teaching credential with an emphasis on early childhood development from Mills College, and her Administrative Services Credential from California State University at East Bay.

In addition, Pfohl is currently enrolled in a school leadership program at UC Berkeley.
