A preliminary investigation has determined that the vehicle was traveling west when, for a reason yet to be determined, the driver lost control and left the north side of the roadway. The vehicle struck the metal guard rail and rolled down an embankment before landing on the off-ramp, CHP officials said.
The off-ramp was closed for about 45 minutes for the investigation into the crash.
