Panthers Head to College
With graduation just over three weeks away, Saint Mary's seniors are looking ahead to college.
Saint Mary’s seniors are experiencing a lot of ”lasts” this spring: their last performances in the stage and musical productions, last final exams coming up, last Junior & Senior Prom this weekend, and today will receive their last Peraltan Yearbooks - a full day before the underclassmen get theirs. Meanwhile, the excitement of college and the road ahead for them is being celebrated by the school community. College Counselor, Sonia Ryan, whose office (pictured) is decorated with more than 200 college pennants, has created mini-pennants with each of the seniors’ names and college choice printed on them (photo), displayed in the hallway for all to see and cheer. One hundred percent of the Class of 2015 has been accepted to a college or university of their choice. Just yesterday, three more seniors signed acceptances at an after-school ceremony on campus, these for baseball and softball, to University of Puget Sound, Swarthmore, and Alabama A&M. Saint Mary’s sends congratulations to all area schools’ seniors as the Classes of 2015 get ready to graduate!
Today, May 14, Saint Mary’s holds its annual Diversity Fair, with students and staff celebrating dozens of countries and cultures with displays, dance, music, games, and sharing ethnic food for everyone to enjoy. The fair represents well the great diversity of the Saint Mary’s student body.
