Photo Feature: Strawberry Jam at Flowerland

Flowerland hosted a strawberry jam-making demonstration on Saturday.

On Saturday afternoon, hosted Alexandra Eisler, the owner of Kensington Marmalade Company, for a demonstration on making strawberry jam.

The recipe was there for the asking, so we can reveal the secret ingredients: (1) delicious ripe strawberries and (2) Eureka lemons! (Sounds great, doesn't it? But you had to be there in person to smell how good it really was.)

Eisler also passed out drinks made with her unique fruit mixes—wonderful with sparkling water, but even better with vodka or tequila. Some of her special fruits are harvested locally from backyard trees and are fairly rare, such as Bearss and Rangpur limes and Marsh grapefruit.
