Plans For Albany Affordable Housing To Be Unveiled Thursday

Complimentary food and drink will be provided as residents view the plans.

ALBANY, CA — A community meeting and presentation is set for Thursday evening on plans for an affordable housing development on city-owned property next to Interstate Highway 80 in Albany.

The meeting is scheduled for 6 p.m. to 7:30 p.m. at the Albany Community Center at 1249 Marin Ave.

The city last September entered into an exclusive agreement with Berkeley-based Satellite Affordable Housing Associates for an affordable housing project at the northwest corner of Cleveland and Washington avenues.

The site is part of a property that was once part of a Highway 80 interchange at Pierce Street that was removed and conveyed to the city by Caltrans in 2011. Another portion is being used for a park.

The meeting will be a chance for the community to learn about the proposed housing development and meet the design team. Complimentary food and drink will be provided.
