Regional Parks Chief Grateful For FF Passage

It "will provide essential funding for wildfire protection and public safety, improving public access, and restoring natural habitat."

ALBANY, CA — An overwhelming number of local voters said "yes" on Measure FF Tuesday night with 84 percent approving the parcel tax extension. It amounts to $1 month and extends Measure CC, which was passed by voters in 2004.

"The Park District thanks voters for approval of Measure FF and appreciates the thousands of residents in the community that participated in the election," said East Bay Regional Park District General Manager Robert Doyle. "Measure FF will provide essential funding for wildfire protection and public safety, improving public access, and restoring natural habitat."

The money will be used for regional park services in western Alameda and Contra Costa counties, including wildfire protection, public safety, public access, trails, visitor use facilities, and the restoration of natural habitat, urban creeks, and shorelines. Wildfire protection was the top spending priority of Measure FF.
