Calif. Wildflowers In All Their Splendor: VIDEO
We visited five places around Southern California where the flowers were blooming and put together this video compilation.

Thanks to an especially wet winter, California enjoyed a rare 'super bloom' across most of the southern portion of the state. We visited an assortment of the spots that boasted some amazing flowers this season. Though we may be at the tail end of the bloom, you can still catch some flowers at most of the locations listed below. (Scroll down for video)
1) Lake Elsinore — The poppy fields off of Lake Street drew flocks of visitors to the region.

2) Palm Desert — The Santa Rosa & San Jacinto Mountains National Monument Visitor Center, located off of Highway 74, offers multiple hiking trails where you can catch some blooming desert flowers.

3) Cherry Valley — The hills above Highland Springs Resort were painted with purple and yellow.

4) Antelope Valley – "As of April 24th, a few patches of poppies are still blooming across the western slopes but most other wildflowers have faded to a brown background," California parks officials say of this famous bloom. "The beavertail cactus in front of the visitor center is in bloom and Acton encelia and buckwheat are beginning to bloom on Kitanemuk Vista Point."
