Saint Mary's High 31st Golf Invitational September 14 at Mira Vista

Saint Mary’s College High School, Berkeley, will hold its 31st Golf Invitational, The Phil Doran ’63 Memorial Tournament, on Monday, September 14 at the beautiful Mira Vista Golf and Country Club in El Cerrito. The $225 per player ($900/foursome) entry fee includes a barbecue lunch, shotgun start, best ball scramble, buffet reception following the tournament, silent auction, raffle, and more. Non-golfers may attend the “19th Hole” social at 5:00 pm in the clubhouse at a separate $25 per person cost (use the registration link below to register for the social - reservations required). Men, women, and Senior flights. Sponsorships and tee signs are available. All proceeds benefit Saint Mary’s tuition assistance program. The tournament honors Berkeley Police Captain Phil Doran (1945-2010), Saint Mary’s Class of 1963, alumni parent, and 25-year school golf coach.

Saint Mary’s will open for its 153rd year of Lasallian Catholic education in the Bay Area and 88th year in Berkeley on August 31, preceded by two weeks that will include faculty workshops, a retreat, and student orientation programs. The school was founded as the secondary department of Saint Mary’s College in San Francisco in 1863, moved to Broadway in Oakland in 1889, and to its present campus at Peralta Park in North Berkeley in 1927, with 3,000 people celebrating the school’s dedication on the campus on August 28, 1927.
