Seeing RED at Saint Mary's!
It's Red Out Day at Saint Mary's! Panther Basketball! Blood Drive! Canned Food Drive! A new scoreboard after 67 years!
Friday, March 20 is the First Day of Spring on the beautiful and historic Peralta Park campus of Saint Mary’s College High School, and it’s also RED OUT FRIDAY! 99.9999% of the school community arrived wearing red today, to support the Panther boys’ basketball team as they head to the Division IV Nor Cal Regional Finals, playing Capital Christian of Sacramento on Saturday, March 21 at 6:00 p.m. at American Canyon High School. Go Panthers! GIVE BLOOD banners are up all around campus, too, to promote the annual and highly successful Saint Mary’s Blood Drive taking place in the school gym on Tuesday, March 31 from 7:30 am until 1:00 pm. The community is welcome to participate. To register for a time slot, contact faculty member, Mrs. Carla Harkness at charkness@stmchs.org, or log on at www.redcrossblood.org. The school‘s annual Canned Food Drive for the Alameda County Community Food Bank runs through Lent, which is marked by school banners and daily community prayer. After 67 years, the 1948 Saint Mary‘s Gym has a second scoreboard, thanks to the kindness of many generous alumni and friends as part of the ”Bob Hagler Gym Renovation” project, dedicated to iconic 1950s Saint Mary’s coach Bob Hagler. Hagler was honored during halftime of a January 20 basketball game and is pictured with the Panther boys’ team.
