This evening on my way home from the gym at the top of the hill I was struck by how many merchants and citizens have taken it upon themselves to add a little green to our urban pavement. Some of the planting boxes are quite elaborate, but even a single large potted plant does the job. Thanks to all those who have installed and continue to maintain these little gardens for our benefit.
Unfortunately, not all citizens are so appreciative, or perhaps they are simply too covetous. Fit-Lite reports that a week or so ago someone came in the dead of night and stole all the plants from their sidewalk plot. Didn't destroy them, but neatly dug them up and took them off, presumably to beautify their own space. If you see such a person, please don't hesitate to tell them their behavior is disgraceful. The Fit-Lite plantings have since been restored; let's hope they stay healthy and strong and watch their carbs.
