That wonderful furniture store that had been there FOREVER next to Rivoli just below Peralta on Solano and then became a mad-lab studying solar/natural power has now been transformed into a consignment store handling kids and baby stuff. Peering through the windows I see mostly empty shelves but lots of little bibby things on hangers. Considering our hard economic times and the utter abundance of Gerbers Kids in these parts, I suspect this store will do very well. Too bad they painted it to look like a beached marlin (have I mentioned that teal is my least favorite color?). Hope the snoots that eat at Rivoli don't mind the company next door, but I but they end up shopping there too.
