As They Slept: Burglary Reported At University Village

Police say the suspect entered through an unlocked ground floor window.

ALBANY, CA — Police responded to a home burglary at University Village in Albany, according to University of California at Berkeley police. The burglary occurred while the residents were sleeping between 11:30 p.m. Saturday and 7 a.m. the following morning.

The suspect entered the apartment through an unlocked ground floor window and stole two cellphones, police said.

The residents were not harmed during the robbery.

Police are asking anyone with information about this or any similar incidents to call (510) 642-0472 or (510) 642-6760 during non-business hours. UCPD reminds the campus community to keep outside doors and windows locked and to keep valuable items in their homes out of view.
