University Police Investigate Attempted Robbery
It happened at the UC Berkeley Extension-Golden Bear Center parking garage.

BERKELEY, CA — University of California at Berkeley police are investigating an attempted robbery at a parking garage at the UC Berkeley Extension-Golden Bear Center building on Sunday afternoon.
The female victim had met the male suspect on the Internet and arranged to meet in person. They did so at about 1:30 p.m. Sunday in the parking garage of the building at 1995 University Ave., where the suspect
tried to rob her, police said.
When the victim resisted, the suspect sprayed her with pepper spray. She then screamed and the suspect fled, with witnesses saying he ran west on Berkeley Way, according to police.

The victim suffered minor injuries in the robbery and the suspect remains at large. He was described as a black man who is about 35 years old and 5 feet 8 or 9 inches tall with a dark complexion and medium build, police said.
He wore a dark hat with a white bill, sunglasses, had a square goatee, a blue Adidas jacket that matched the hat and dark pants, police said.
