Volunteers Sought For Planting & Cleanup At Albany Bulb

Lend a hand: The event begins Saturday at 9 a.m. sharp!

ALBANY, CA — Volunteers are sought Saturday morning to help with litter removal, weeding and planting projects at the Albany Bulb at 1 Buchanan St.

The event will be from 9 a.m. to 12:30 p.m. with registration and details here.

"Come plant native plants at the Albany Bulb with Love the Bulb and the City of Albany's Friends of Albany Parks program," Organizers said. "We'll be weeding, cleaning and planting. Wear sturdy shoes, a hat, and work gloves if you have them and bring sunscreen and plenty of drinking water."

The planting is co-sponsored by Albany Community Foundation and Love the Bulb, a community group dedicated to stewardship of nature and art at this former landfill on Albany's shoreline.

Participants are asked to arrive promptly at 9 a.m. for the initial information and guide to the planting site. Those who attend and volunteer their time will receive an official Friends of Albany Parks T-shirt.
