I Had A Dream...President Barack Obama Said This On The 50th Anniversary Of The March On Washington For Jobs And Freedom:

I join you in honoring this anniversary of the March On Washington For Jobs And Freedom, two score and ten years ago. As the first African American President of the United States, today I am humbled low even as I stand high, as the leader of the free world, on the shoulders of so many uplifting spirits: Martin Luther King, A. Phillip Randolph, Bayard Rustin, Marian Anderson, Mahalia Jackson, Daisy Bates, Dorothy Height, Anna Arnold Hedgemann. Before me, they too had been inspired by a celestial myriad of freedom fighters: Medger Evers, WEB Dubois, Mary Macleod Bethune, Booker T. Washington, Frederick Douglas, Harriet Tubman, Sojourner Truth.

Now is the time. This rain today, this fiftieth anniversary, is the perfect storm. Now is the time to redouble my efforts by focusing on the following:

First, with all the powers of my office, on behalf of the most oppressed group on earth,  I will work for an Equal Rights Amendment for Women.

And if need be, I will keep lawyering up new amendments until we have a united states of marriage equality, voting rights, and no capital punishment. It's time for all 50 states to join the 21st Century.

With the same energy, I hereby pledge to spend the time remaining in my administration, by any tax - indeed, by any means - necessary, accessing the concentrated wealth of the 1%, until we finally make solvent the bank of justice, upon which Dr. King's promissory note has been drawn and marked "insufficent funds" for decades. The disenfranchised 99% must at last be able to cash in on the true promise of democracy: economic justice.

I will rebuild the labor unions, the backbone of the working class, starting with a continuance of  the work of the Meat Packers union represented here 50 years ago today. I offer the full support of the White House behind the current iteration of that meat packers union: the coalition of fast food workers and their nationwide walkouts for livable wages. The same goes for SEIU 1021 and ATU 1055 in Northern California. And the labor movement everywhere in America. Labor must be re-
strengthened. Otherwise, at long last, without a strong middle class, the top-heavy 1%, and in turn this nation, will surely fall like the Roman Empire. The Middle Class must be brought back into vogue.

My government will undertake mending the trail of broken treaties with this land's indigenous people. Until this is done, every single one of the rest of us is an illegal immigrant.

I encourage the National Rifle Association to merge with the Black Panther Party. Then, they may begin to be truly "national." An oasis of patriotic sister and brotherhood.

I will work toward reshaping the philosophic structure of the Pentagon until it resembles the Red Cross.

We will make the prison industrial complex insolvent by redressing our education inferiority complex. Fully equipped schoolhouses lead to emptier jailhouses.

Martin Luther King said "Let Freedom Ring." I say that the tolling bell must serve as a wake up call to the care of Mother Earth, her eco-system and all sentient beings. From the prodigious hilltops of New Hampshire, to the heightening Alleghenies of Pennsylvania, to Stone Moutain of Georgia, to the snow capped Rockies of Colorado, to the curvacious slopes of California, to the vast ocean of the Pacific connecting the unique beauty of Alaska and Hawaii... No freedom will last until our environment is, with all urgency, released from the dungeon of neglect.

And, finally, I hereby pardon Chelsea Manning.
