California State Update On Face Coverings In Aliso Viejo

Face coverings do not substitute for existing guidance for social distancing and handwashing.

Though many businesses are beginning to re-open, the risk of exposure to COVID-19 still remains. With the increasing number of people who are leaving their homes for work and other needs, the State of California has issued new state-wide guidance to help reduce the risk.

The California Department of Public Health has updated its existing guidance for the use of cloth face coverings by the general public when outside the home. It now mandates that face coverings must be worn in specified circumstances, with certain exceptions. Face coverings are required while:

  • Inside of, or in line to enter, any indoor public space
  • Obtaining healthcare services
  • Waiting for or using public transportation
  • In the workplace, under several circumstances
  • Outdoors in public spaces and unable to maintain 6 feet of distancing
