CALIFORNIA NATIVE JOINS MONTECEDRO AS DIRECTOR OF LIFE ENRICHMENT

MonteCedro, a planned Episcopal Communities & Services (ECS) Continuing Care Retirement Community (CCRC), announced today that California native Rebecca Gruett has joined the senior living community as its Director of Life Enrichment. In this role, Gruett will be responsible for identifying and implementing programs that supports MonteCedro’s Masterpiece Living lifestyle, a wholeperson, whole-community initiative that promotes successful aging physically, intellectually, socially and spiritually.

“With Rebecca’s entrepreneurial background, we feel that she is the perfect candidate for this position,” states Peggy Buchanan, Director of Sales and Marketing at MonteCedro. “We are excited to have her a part of the MonteCedro community and look forward to utilizing her knowledge and skill set to better our team.”

Gruett, who has approximately 20 years of professional experience, has held various positions within the financial services, retail, insurance and medical industries. Within these roles, she gained valuable experience organizing and managing events, building client relationships and implementing educational programs.

Additionally, Gruett owned and operated two vintage furniture and modern fashion boutiques. As a small business owner, she was responsible for managing all aspects of the business including purchasing, merchandising, sales and marketing, shop design and events.

This spring, Gruett will graduate from Pasadena College in Pasadena, Calif. with an Associate of Arts in Social and Behavioral Science and Associate of Arts degree in Communication Arts, a program focused in speech communications, visual arts, design and performing arts. In the fall, she plans to continue her education with a Bachelor of Arts degree in Human Development and Communications.

With the addition of Gruett’s role, MonteCedro has implemented Masterpiece Mondays, which are a series of educational programs exploring various senior related topics including memory enhancement, nutrition and fitness. The new series will be held at MonteCedro’s presentation gallery.

“MonteCedro is approaching its groundbreaking, but we have already begun to build our community with the introduction of Masterpiece Mondays,” states Gruett. “Through these classes, San Gabriel Valley area seniors will have the opportunity to experience the successful aging lifestyle that will be available at MonteCedro.”
