ALTADENA (CNS) - A 42-year-old Los Angeles woman was arrested Friday for allegedly starting a small fire in the Eaton Canyon area.

Deputies from the sheriff's Altadena Station were alerted about 2 p.m. to a person who appeared to be attempting to start a fire off Pinecrest Drive in Altadena.

Two deputies hiked into the canyon, spoke with the person who made the report, then hiked further and located and detained the suspect, whose name was not immediately released, according to the sheriff's department.
