Federal Head Start Program Reopens in Altadena
The Pasadena Sun reports that the federal child care program has restarted in the Pasadena area a month after it shut down. As reported on this site last month, federal agencies had said the program would be closed down only a week.

The local version of the federal child care Head Start program has restarted in Pasadena and Altadena, according to the Pasadena Sun.
The program was on hiatus after the local provider of Head Start, .
That temporarily left local low-income families out of luck for child care--officials said the hiatus would only be a week, but the Sun reports that Pasadena and Altadena have only just restarted, while Glendale programs are still not operating.

The relationship between the federal program and the CCFS organization ended after CCFS withdrew from its decades long agreement with the program. CCFS representatives blamed unreasonable restrictions from Head Start, while Head Start officials blamed CCFS financial problems.
Some 1,397 children in Altadena, Pasadena and Glendale participate in the program, according to federal officials. The is at 836 West Woodbury Road.
