Have Library Late Fines? Donate Food or Toys

The Altadena Library will be forgiving late fine from Nov. 21 to Dec. 3 for library patrons who donate food or toys to the Sheriff's Department charity drive.

Library users who are habitually tardy in returning their books now have an opportunity to clear their fines by donating food or toys to the Sheriff's Food and Toy Drive, according to Pauli Dutton of the .

Dutton writes that from November 21 through December 3, patrons at Altadena Library can bring in new toys or non-perishable food items in lieu of paying those fines.

Of course, even those who do not have problems with returning their books on time are also invited to bring in items to help support local people in need this holiday season.
