Lake Avenue Restriping Project Underway
The project will change Lake Avenue above Altadena Boulevard from a four-lane street to two lanes with a center turning lane and wider shoulder.

The county has started work on transforming the top of Lake Avenue from a four-lane road to a two-lane road with a center turn lane and wider shoulders.
The preliminary marking work has been started as of Tuesday and the work will be wrapped up by October 5, according to an email from Jalaine Madrid, the project's director.
The idea behind the changes is to reduce the risk of collisions on left turns, reduce overall traffic speed, and increase pedestrian safety, according to a letter sent out to Altadena homeowners (which can be viewed on right).

The county intends to do a traffic study on the area after the project is completed and release the results after six months, according to the letter.
