MONDAY: The Christmas Tree Lane Association that the famous lighting display is ready to go for the 90th Annual Lighting Ceremony this Saturday. A Winter Arts and Crafts Festival will take place the same day to help in Altadena.

THURSDAY: The Board of Trustees to a county-wide library tax measure proposed to the LA County Board of Supervisors on Tuesday by the County Library Commission. Trustees president Dale LaCasella said the independently run Altadena Library has no interest in joining the county library system.

THURSDAY: At the artists' reception for the final Art Bender weekend event before Ben McGinty closes his beautiful Gallery at the End of the World, artists and patrons about their reaction to the closing and whether the hole McGinty leaves will ever be filled again. Today is the last event for the iconic gallery, a brunch from noon to 6 p.m. appropriately titled "Tie One On."
