Arrest: 39-year-old Oakley woman rams Antioch police cars, injures officer (antiochherald.com) — Antioch police arrested a 39-year-old Oakley woman Sunday after she allegedly drove erratically through Antioch neighborhoods, sideswiped a car, nearly hit a pedestrian, and then rammed two Antioch patrol vehicles while trying to escape. Officers boxed in her damaged SUV near East 18th Street, took her into custody, and booked her on multiple felony and misdemeanor charges. One officer suffered minor injuries from broken glass.
   

2. Antioch Begins Move Away from Flock Cameras, Axon Deal Approved (contracosta.news) — Antioch is phasing out its Flock license plate cameras after the City Council approved a 49‑month, $661,000 contract with Axon for new readers, dash cams, and AI translation tools. Police say the unified system will expand coverage, support language access, and tighten data‑sharing controls, while residents and councilmembers continue pressing for privacy safeguards and annual public reporting.
   

3. Building community for caregivers at the Sycamore Police Substation (antiochherald.com) — Family caregivers in Antioch now have a free monthly support group meeting at the Sycamore Police Substation on Sycamore Drive, part of the city’s push to turn the site into a true community hub. The Sandwich Circle connects local caregivers with trusted organizations, resources, and neighbors right in the Sycamore corridor, reducing the need to travel far for support.
   

4. Los Medanos College opens 2026 grant opportunity for East County nonprofits (thepress.net) — A new grant program backed by Los Medanos College and the Antioch Chamber of Commerce is offering up to $240,000 to strengthen East Contra Costa nonprofits, including those serving Antioch. Local organizations can apply for $10,000–$20,000 capacity-building grants, with info sessions on September 10 and 15 and an October 18 application deadline. Funded projects will run throughout 2027.
