Cyberbullying Awareness and Prevention at Foothills Middle School

Cyberbullying is the 21st Century version of bullying. Instead of face- to-face harassment, bullies now hide behind computers and cell phones to inflict willful and repeated harm. Research has identified the importance of ongoing discussions among parents, educators and children about online interactions. Parents of 4th-8th grade students are encouraged to join in the conversation Monday night at Foothills Middle School. The workshop will teach parents how to:

  • Understand roles of school and home related to cyberbullying.
  • Learn strategies for talking to your children about cyberbullying.
  • Identify consequences of cyberbullying.
