A product of Schubert’s final, most fertile years, the great and noble C-major Symphony would not be heard until after the composer’s death.  And not comprehended until a century later.  Today is it is universally recognized as one of the greatest ever composed. To bring the Pasadena Symphony’s season to a close, James DePreist returns to conduct Schubert’s final symphony, plus the poignant Four Last Songs of Richard Strauss with the incomparable and Grammy-Award winning soprano Christine Brewer.
